This category recognises any projects that promote and support a successful prosperous economy. Projects could include minerals planning, industrial, commercial or infrastructure, regeneration schemes or improvements to public realm.

Projects completed in the two years prior to 1 June 2021 are eligible for entry, even if the planning component was completed years prior. Particular care should be taken to avoid entering schemes prematurely before they can be satisfactorily assessed. The projects must meet local need and be in locations that have access to infrastructure and facilities for communities. This category recognises projects of 50 or more homes that deliver new housing or upgrade existing developments to meet housing needs. Projects can integrate into the surrounding context, or be a new development in its own right. The projects must meet the community's need for a range of tenures. Projects must also include an aspect of community building around the housing developments. What else is included in terms of infrastructure, leisure facilities, education and medical facilities etc.

Description
This award seeks out the brightest RTPI members in the early stages of their careers. Potential candidates can work in any area of the industry. We are looking for outstanding Young Planners who can demonstrate a contribution to planning or significant career achievements in recent years.

Eligibility
Entrants must be in the first 10 years of post-qualification experience and be a current member of the RTPI. A candidate can nominate themselves or they can also be nominated by an employer, colleague or peer.

RTPI North West Personality of the Year
This year's Chair's Award will acknowledge entrants whose experiences and achievements have significantly influenced their workplace, industry and the planning profession more widely, particularly over recent years.
